2010-02-05 - Fuji TV's next afternoon drama series (weekdays 1:30pm) will be "Shoufu to Shukujo," scheduled to run for 65 episodes starting on April 5. The show will star actress Yumi Adachi (28), playing two roles.

The story is set in the late 1930s. The protagonist is a young woman from a poor home named Beniko (played by Adachi), who steals for the sake of her family. One day she sneaks into a wealthy villa, where she meets Rinko (also played by Adachi), the daughter of a viscount. The two look exactly alike, to the extent that even Rinko's "brother" Masahiko (Jun Toba) mistakes Beniko for her. After Rinko is murdered, the poor Beniko seizes the opportunity to assume Rinko's identity and live her life.

Adachi's supporting cast includes Shinichirou Ishikawa (29), Ayumi Kinoshita (27), Shizuka Ochi (38), Hironobu Nomura (44), and Miyoko Akaza (65).
