2007-05-14 - On Monday, it was discovered that 30-year-old actress Mai Houshou (best known for her role in the "Shomuni" drama series) recently got married to a successful graphic designer, who is seven years older. They met through a mutual friend in 2004 and have been dating for about two years. They registered their marriage on March 6. Reportedly, the couple has no plans for a ceremony, or even a press conference.
Houshou's husband is described as the "choiwaru oyaji" type, with some physical resemblance to Dragon Ash's Kenji Furuya. The man studied design in Los Angeles when he was in his twenties, and in 1997 he created a street fashion brand with a group of friends. The brand is said to have been worn by Takuya Kimura in the Fuji TV drama series "Pride."
