Synopsis(by Kaddi):
Highly popular Shuuji Kiritani is riding by a willow every morning before going to school to get some luck for the day. When the willow is gone on one day, he meets Nobuko Kotani, who chose that willow to hang herself. Later she joins Shuujis class in school and immediately gets mobbed by her classmates. Shuuji and clown of the classroom Akira Kusano decide to "produce" Nobuko to make her more popular with her classmates. From now on they call her Nobuta (Nobuko + Buta (=pig)), because Nobuko is a very strange, shabby girl (Quote: Akira: "Why does she look at me that angrily?" Shuuji: "I guess she is trying to smile").
So those two guys are trying to optimize her look and reputation. But the path to success is not easy, as it is paved with selfishness, hate, love, and the actions of the other students. When Nobuta really gets popular and the three of them got friends, that friendship has to be proved. Will it be strong enough, as the teenagers got completely different personalities?
